National Treasury and the DTI have issued the list of designated industries:

The Minister of Finance has exempted Schedule 2, 3B and 3D pubic entities from most of the Preferential Procurement Regulations with the exception of the Local Content regulations.
The exemption is for the period up to 7 December 2012 implying that they will apply thereafter. |

On January 20, 2012, the Minister of Finance annouced the minimum thresholds for each of the designated sectors:
